This year, at our annual international conference, 8 scientists from Germany, Slovakia, Poland, Indonesia, Ethiopia, and Ukraine spoke at the plenary session. The conference was held in English. Serhiy Kozin, Ph.D., a teacher at the Department of Physical Therapy and Health at the National Pharmaceutical University, translated the questions from Ukrainian to English. 215 representatives of various world organizations took part in the conference, including: 21 professors, 26 doctors of science, 62 doctors of philosophy; 64 participants were representatives of Ukraine, the rest were representatives of other countries.

The listeners got a great opportunity to participate in modern scientific research in the field of physical culture, sports, and physical therapy, conducted in different parts of our planet. The presented reports interested the listeners in non-standard approaches to the selection of areas of scientific activity, to the selection of research methods, to the development and implementation of innovative technologies. The participants noted the friendly «home» atmosphere of the conference, where they got acquainted with interesting modern researches and discussed interesting scientific topics in the field of physical education, sports and physical therapy.

Ph.D., Professor Aeksander Skaliy (Poland) spoke about projects of joint activity of Poland and Ukraine in the field of physical culture, sports and physical therapy. A feature of all compatible projects is their implementation even in modern conditions of martial law in Ukraine. The speaker paid special attention to the project to restore the military in centers financed by sponsors from Poland and created in Kharkiv, Lviv, and Rivne.

Doctor of Science, Professor Georgy Korobeynikov (Germany) revealed the peculiarities of the psychophysiological state of athletes with different levels of aggression. It is interesting that for a high sports result, excessive aggression does not help, but even harms. And that’s why you need to be able to control your own emotions.

Ph.D., Professor Edi Setiwan (Indonesia) showed how augmented reality can be applied in physical education when teaching university students the techniques of traditional Indonesian wrestling. Augmented reality, as well as virtual reality, can simulate objects and circumstances of sports activities: balls, partners, premises, etc. Only when using virtual reality, you need to wear special glasses, and when using augmented reality, you only need a smartphone with the appropriate software. As a result, the partner, like a mirage, appears in space and encourages the student to perform thrusts and blows. Students liked such classes conducted online more than regular online physical education classes.

Doctor of Science Bujdos Gabriel (Slovakia) talked about the use of smartphones by girls during physical exercises in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. In general, the relevance of this topic is growing in the modern world, where smartphones are more and more part of the life of a modern person. The research was carried out at a high scientific level with the involvement of more than 500 subjects from each country, thorough statistical analysis and was presented in an interesting way.

Ph.D., Professor Efrem Kentiba (Ephippia) disclosed the results of the impact of moderate intensity aerobic exercise on the fatigue index and sleep quality. This topic is the result of the appearance of fitness watches, which register not only the heart rate, but also, based on the determination of heart rate variability during sleep, allow to determine the quality of sleep and the quality of recovery after sleep. The author scientifically justified the feasibility of using aerobic exercises of moderate intensity to reduce the fatigue index and improve the quality of sleep.

Doctor of Sciences, Professor Valeriya Tishchenko (Ukraine) considered an interesting topic about physical fitness as a prerequisite for the formation of professional skills of trainers. In Valeria’s report, one could feel the enormous personal experience of both an athlete and an honored coach of Ukraine. All the details of her report aroused great interest among the listeners, even such a seemingly ordinary element of training as a warm-up.

Valeria Tishchenko also presented the report of her doctoral student, Oleg Kvasnytsia (Ukraine), on the research of the competitive activity of athletes in rugby-15. It became clear from the report. What a huge load a rugby player performs at a competition in terms of the number of kilometers covered at different levels of intensity, technical and tactical techniques that require the manifestation of strength and speed-power abilities, etc.

The discussion was sparked by the report of the novice researcher Nadi Aprilyadi from Indonesia on the use of reiki therapy, that is, an alternative medicine method of treatment with the help of laying on the palms. At the current stage, the technique of reiki therapy is considered scientifically unproven, is not recognized as official science, and belongs to pseudoscience. But the author obtained positive results in the application of this method in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. Him Mr decided to conduct a study comparing the use of ordinary aerobic exercises, placebo and reiki therapy to substantiate the effectiveness of this method.

We sincerely thank all the speakers for their interesting reports and all the participants of our conference for their interest in sports rehabilitation science!

2023-04-13 Speech at the international conference «PHYSICAL EDUCATION IN UNIVERSITY EDUCATION: GLOBAL PRACTICE AND CURRENT TRENDS»

The main problem of the report was using the information in Scopus and WoS articles for readers to develop their professional skills.

Main questions of the report:

Why are articles in the Scopus and WoS databases so important for readers who want to be professionals in their field? The modern world relies on the scientific basis of all technologies. And so the path to professionalism lies in the application of scientifically based technologies and methods at a qualitatively high level. The largest number of high-quality scientific publications is indexed by the Scopus and Web of Science databases. Why is there more high-quality scientific publications in this database?

The report aroused great interest among the conference participants, especially among the representatives of India, Indonesia, Poland, Latvia, Turkey, Uzbekistan and other countries.

On December 26, 2022, a guest lecture by Zh.L. Kozina (Doctor of Science. professor, chief editor of the Scopus database journal «Health, Sport, Rehabilitation», and author of more than 100 publications in Scopus and Web of Science databases) took place. The lecture was held online in the Lviv National University of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology named after S. Z. Gzhitsky on the topic: «Academic integrity — the way to reveal talent, to success.» The lectures were attended by teachers and students of the university, a total number of which is more than 40 people.
The lecture aroused great interest among the listeners with its non-standard presentation of the material, interesting approaches to the disclosure of basic concepts, and vivid examples from the author’s own experience.

The following issues were considered:
What is academic integrity?
Does it have historical analogs that arose long before the emergence of a scientific form of knowledge of the world?
Why do people violate the rules of academic integrity and what are the types of violations?
What tools are there to check scientific or educational works for compliance with the rules of academic integrity?
How to reveal your own abilities to create something new, to creative inspiration?
The answers to these and other questions are provided in the video in an interesting and understandable format with examples from the author’s own experience and that of other scientists.

REVIEW ARTICLES

Eight hundred twelve students from nine faculties of KhNPU took part in the study: eighty-eight students of the faculty of elementary education, ninety-three students of the faculty of preschool education, all other students were representatives of the history,, natural sciences, foreign philology, Ukrainian language, physical education faculty and sports, the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Psychology and Sociology. Student testing was conducted in classes on the subject «Technologies of health preservation» in September — October 2021.

The psychophysiological method of determining the time of a simple and complex reaction was used. We determined the speed of a simple reaction and a reaction of choosing two elements out of three. The shorter the reaction time, the higher the mobility of nervous processes. The smaller the number of errors, the higher the stability of nervous processes. Orthostatic reactions were determined by the results of heart rate in the lying position and in the standing position.

The lower HR values in the supine position (50-64 beats/min) testify to the higher level of economy of the work of the cardiovascular system and functional capabilities. Also, the smaller difference in heart rate between the lying position and the standing position testifies to the higher level of orthostatic regulation. Applicants with a high level of mobility of nervous processes intuitively chose the specialties of teachers of children of younger grades and preschoolers. Of the physical exercises for them, those that correspond to the characteristics of people with a high level of mobility of the nervous system will be the most effective. Sports that require high mobility of the nervous system include sports games, martial arts, short-distance running, jumping, dancing, various outdoor exercises, and others.
